We stopped by on our way back to our airbnb from skiing. It was easy to find a table. We were not that hungry so we shared a large "Revolution" flatbread. It was really good. The large one is good for two people (if you are having just that). They have several options to accommodate and the choice to customize your own choice of flatbread. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

American Flatbread isn't your typical pizza place. It takes the concept of flatbread and turns it into a flavorful masterpiece. The restaurant has built a reputation for its wood-fired flatbreads, which are both delicious and creative. Whether youβre enjoying one of their signature creations or building your own, the quality of the ingredients and the skillful preparation are immediately noticeable.
I recently had the pleasure of dining there with friends, and it was an experience that stands out. The moment you step inside, youβre greeted by the warmth of the oven and the rustic charm of the decor. The open kitchen lets you watch as the chefs carefully craft each dish, which adds to the sense of excitement and authenticity. Itβs not just about eating here; itβs about experiencing the process of how the food comes together. The wood-fired oven infuses the flatbreads with a unique flavor that you just canβt replicate with a conventional pizza oven.
One of the standout items on the menu is the "Chicken and Pesto Flatbread." The combination of tender chicken, vibrant pesto, and fresh vegetables on a perfectly crisp crust makes every bite a delight. Another favorite is the "Vermont Farmstead Cheese Flatbread," which highlights the amazing local cheeses that Vermont is known for. You can taste the difference in the quality of the ingredients-everything is fresh and locally sourced, which truly elevates the flavors.
But itβs not just the flatbreads that make this place special. American Flatbread offers a diverse menu with options that cater to everyone, from meat lovers to vegetarians. The salads, appetizers, and desserts round out the meal nicely. One thing I highly recommend is trying their homemade desserts, like the decadent chocolate cake or their seasonal fruit tarts. Theyβre the perfect ending to an already amazing meal.
The service at American Flatbread is another highlight. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, ready to recommend something new or make adjustments to fit dietary preferences. The atmosphere here feels like a community gathering spot, where youβre treated like a local even if itβs your first time visiting. Itβs clear that this place has built a loyal following over the years, and thereβs a reason why.
In addition to their incredible food, the restaurant also offers a selection of local Vermont beers and wines. This makes it easy to pair your meal with something special and truly Vermont. Truly one of my favorite places to eat in West Dover. Pizza is consistently fantastic. Prices are reasonable and family friendly. Nicholas, the pizza oven maestro is one of my favorite aspect of this place. He truly loves making good pies and is just a genuinely good man. Been coming here since it first opened and will be coming back again and again.
The service couldn't have been any better! Bianca (our server) was soo pleasant, friendly, and attentive.. she rocks! Accommodated every request, including a last minute change after we had already placed our order. Flatbreads & salads were delicious. Cool laid-back atmosphere, with 2 nice pool tables. Everyone here was super friendly, and that alone will keep me coming back!
We dined here during our fall road trip, the flat breads are amazing and equally wonderful are their korean wings. We tried the revolution bread and would highly recommend. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great!
I love this place! The pizza itself is a thin crust "flatbread" and it's amazing, the ranch is also super tasty! The outdoor area is so cute and well maintained and the service was really good too.
Where to start... I guess with this: flatbread = pizza. This is a pizza joint/bar. The pool tables from Andirons and then Dover Valley Forger survived! But the atmosphere, while ski themed and delivering on some clever ideas (like walls made to look like birch forest and signs you might see tree skiing) ultimately fail due to the grim white lighting and the overall tired feel. The pizza is good altho the mushrooms (which are on most slices) were not precooked and created a watery pie. The new pizza oven is legit. Under carriage was solid with the dough having a good fermented bite to it. Love that they have gluten free options for those poor unfortunate souls who need it (top pie in pic) but expect to pay NYC prices for the luxury. In fact, overall this place is damn expensive. But I do love that they try to keep it local and they also offer gluten-free crusts (added $6 surcharge??) which is appreciated. This is a 3 star review in most places, but I appreciate that Dover is trying to modernize it's culinary scene and this is a great addition to that effort... and for that: 4 stars.
First visit and we knew right away weβd want to come back. Friendly service, kid friendly and delicious food. It wasnβt busy when we were there but the place is large with pool tables and more. The small flatbread was generously sized for 1, and maybe leftovers if you donβt want to eat it all
Atmosphere was amazing and the pizza was good as far as service we felt rushed and almost as if the server was uncomfortable serving us as a family. We will be back as the atmosphere especially the outdoor seating was very enjoyable and the pizza was really good maybe not New Haven but for Vermont it's great hopefully when we go back the service will have improved
